Welcome to our Dow show home

One question we are often asked is will my furniture fit? This is often asked by those looking to move home or downsize. We believe that a new home is the perfect place for loved furniture which has been part of people’s life.

At Whiteburn we love to give things new life. We love to work within the communities we build. We wanted the show home to demonstrate that a new home can give new life to existing furniture and that you can furnish your home from the many local suppliers and shops in your area.

Our Concept

We have carefully curated mid-century pieces together with several contemporary pieces to create a home influenced by this era. We believe that this re-use and occasional up-cycling of furniture is both sustainable, affordable and contextual.

We have worked with many local shops, charities and artists to furnish our show home. We believe its important to reduce waste, embrace the joy of up-cycling as there are many pieces of great furniture looking for a new home. It is equally important to support local makers and creative talent. We have aimed to source art, furniture and soft furnishings from within the 30-mile radius of the development to showcase the local network available to new home owners.

We always design our homes to be contextual to their location, consequently we felt it was appropriate to carry this into the show home. Our colour schemes, floorings and textures are all chosen to compliment the mid-century modern theme. We have selected colours from the Dulux to give contemporary pops of colour into rooms.

Choices to style your home

The ground floor open plan spaces are floored throughout to showcase the flow of the homes design and the flexible spaces. The stairs, landing and bedrooms have carpet in Whiteburn Twist Seabreeze. This demonstrates optional flooring available to purchasers for flooring, carpets and entrance mats.

Tiling choices in the home demonstrate standard tile ranges options available to purchasers.

Option choices have also been showcased in the bathrooms, with use of standard chrome fittings in the family bathroom. We offer stylish matt black fittings are an optional upgrade, together with fitted vanity units.

Whiteburn aim to provide ‘on trend’ design options to discerning purchasers.

Bedrooms

Work from home spaces are essential in todays homes, the show home has been furnished to demonstrate the flexibility of the show homes layout creating both incidental and dedicated work from home spaces.

The show home is Wi-Fi connected giving purchasers the chance to try fibre to the home Wi-Fi speeds for themselves.

The master bedroom has deep fully fitted wardrobes, with bifold doors. There is a second double bedroom and third single bedroom for children or a great home office. The landing also has a great size cupboard.

Bathrooms

The family bathroom has back to wall white porcelain sanitaryware and chrome fittings. We offer a choice of tiling and countertops, to give a sleek hotel bathroom feel with a shower fitted over the bath. There will be tiling to all walls around the bath area to the ceiling as standard.

Our houses have a dual control heating system for the ground and upper floor – with the control for the upstairs in the master bedroom.

We have furnished our Show Home with choices from high street suppliers, pre-owned furniture and local makers who upcycle and create lovely new unique items. We all have a piece of beloved furniture, and not everyone can or should buy everything brand new, when there are so many great ways to incorporate older pieces and memories into your new home. We all know that buying a new home is probably the biggest financial commitment you will make, and we wanted to show that you can furnish your home simply and to a budget, and then just fill it with love.
