Stepping up for Cash for Kids

April 2025 – the Whiteburn team stepped up to the challenge

Throughout April, the Whiteburn team laced up their trainers and got moving for a great cause – taking part in Forth 1’s Step Around Scotland challenge to support Cash for Kids Day on 1st May. Our goal? To help ensure no local child goes hungry during the school holidays this year.

To make it more personal to Whiteburn, we challenged ourselves to see how many times we could “walk” the distance from our Edinburgh HQ (EH8 8PJ) to our Viewforth development in Kirkcaldy (KY1 3DB) – ‘a long walk to the Lang Toun’ at 30.9 miles or around 50,000 steps one way. For the 30 days in April, we set our sights at a combined team total of 1.5 million steps – the equivalent of 30 trips to Viewforth. However, faced with a challenge, our team smashed our target – in total walking 3,281,790 steps – the equivalent of 64 trips to Viewforth and almost 2,000 miles in April!

It’s been a fantastic team effort, filled with lunchtime walks, step count rivalries and a lot of fresh air. But most importantly, every step helped raise awareness and vital funds for Cash for Kids, who do incredible work supporting children living in difficult circumstances across Scotland. But we still need your help to reach our fund raising target

Cash for Kids Day was on 1st May, however there’s still time to show your support for us until 31st May 2025.

If you’re able to donate, please do – and feel free to leave a message for the team! Together, we can make a difference – one step at a time.
