Viewforth, Kirkcaldy – 2023

Gabriela and her husband Dragos relocated to Scotland in March 2022 to further their careers in the pharmaceutical industry. They discovered Kirkcaldy and fell in love with it due to its coastal location yet proximity to Edinburgh and the added convenience of the airport being an easy drive away.

The couple rented a flat before deciding to buy their new three-bedroom Dow home at Viewforth to take their first step onto the property ladder. Gabriela explains further: “After we moved to Scotland, we found that Kirkcaldy was the perfect location for us and once we decided to invest in a new property the team at Whiteburn was just so helpful. As first-time buyers, we knew that we wanted a fresh and new space to make our own. And we also knew that we didn’t want to have to invest in the refurbishment of an older property. Also buying a new home with a fixed price helped us to work out the finances needed to make our investment and the move.

“We chose to move to a new home at Viewforth for a combination of reasons. We fell in love with the Dow – it has three bedrooms which is more than enough space for us. Plus, the sales manager Toria is amazing. She helped us through the process which as first-time buyers we appreciated and found valuable. Toria is super knowledgeable, and we never felt pressured which as first-time buyers is very reassuring.”

For us, everything went smoothly from choosing and agreeing on which style of home and location on the development suited us best, to moving in. We both enjoyed the experience, and we were both excited to move in.

Dragos adds: “We also loved the location of this development – it’s not like the other new developments that are right on the outskirts of the town. We wanted a newly built home in a quiet neighbourhood, so Viewforth is perfect for that. And we have the most incredible view across the Forth Estuary which is amazing. We are also close to Ravenscraig Park nearby which is perfect for our morning runs.

“The design of Whiteburn’s homes is also a little different from other developers and you can see they are building quality homes too. From the paintwork to the quality and choice of the fixtures – they are quite above other developers. Coming from Poland we also feel that our new home reflects more of a European open-plan style, and we like that. We don’t like to feel enclosed, so we appreciate the floor plan downstairs which means one room flows into the other.”

Gabriela concludes: “The team at Viewforth has been so welcoming to us and on our move-in day, they surprised us with some lovely champagne. We also don’t mind that we are living with construction happening around us – the onsite team is very considerate. They keep the site very tidy and they maintain this very well which we appreciate too.”
