Audrey
Viewforth, Kirkcaldy – 2023
Our new buyer, Audrey has recently moved from a Victorian property in Kirkcaldy to a new four bedroom semi-detached Oliphant home at Whiteburn’s Viewforth development, off Loughborough Road.
Audrey had an open mind when it came to choosing what type of property to move to as she explains: “I did lots of work in my old Victorian apartment and while I was relaxed about whether I would buy a second-hand property or a new build, I knew that I didn’t want another project.
“After doing so much work renovating my old property, I was looking to relax for a few years, but I was also keen to move up the property ladder to maximise my investment in property as I look ahead to the future and what I may want to do in a few years.
I did look at a few other developments locally, but they were not a patch on Viewforth. As soon as I visited the Oliphant show home here, I just felt right at home. The way it’s been designed reflects my taste and style with its modern take on retro, and straightaway I felt that I could see myself living in a home like just like it.
This house is fantastic – it has lots of space and that’s something that I feel that I’ve not had to give up on since moving from a very large Victorian apartment. I like the configuration of the rooms and the open-plan living area is so airy and lovely.
“And the location of the development is perfect. I’m close to Ravenscraig Park and it’s just a short walk to the beach although I’m a bit further away from the train station than I was, the location of Viewforth still works for me.
“With just my little dog Mabel and I here, we have everything set up brilliantly just for us. As well as my main bedroom, I use one of the bedrooms as a snug where Mabel sleeps each night, another is my home office and then I also have a guest bedroom – so it’s perfect.
“I only moved in a few weeks’ ago, but I was pleased with the quality of the fixtures and fittings and how my choices came together. A friend recently commented on how impressed they were too when they popped over to visit. Being able to personalise my new home with quite a few of the available optional extras was great too, and I am so pleased with my choice of parquet flooring because it looks great. I was also delighted to be able to move in and to find that my garden had been planted too.
“While I’ve gone up two Council Tax bands, I am expecting to make savings on my energy bills, and I was impressed by the energy efficiencies my new house will give me.”
The team at Whiteburn supported Audrey throughout the whole process of buying her new home as she continues:
Toria was very helpful – she’s just so accommodating and was able to answer all of my questions. I feel the buying process ran smoothly and I appreciated that the move-in date that Whiteburn committed to didn’t slip.
“My handover was good too. The meet/greet and walk through my house with Toria and the Site Manager to show me how everything worked was very helpful, and it gave me comfort. I also loved the move-in gift – it was thoughtful and full of good products for me to get me started in the house.”
The development is growing with more people moving in each week, and it’s an interesting time for Audrey as she concludes:
There’s still construction work going on here, so there’s always something going on or something to look at. Everyone is lovely. Mabel loves the site team, and they make a real fuss of her when we walk by. I’ve also got lovely neighbours; I love my new home, and this is a good part of Kirkcaldy so I’m happy with my move here. I’d also recommend the development to other potential buyers – in fact, I already have!
